We train leaders and aspiring coaches who change the world.
Join Newfield Network’s coach training program and become a catalyst for meaningful, sustainable change.
Typical models for change, development, and leadership often focus solely on action as the catalyst that creates new results. At Newfield Network, we support you as you move beyond that approach and enhance your ability to lead yourself and others. By understanding our own unique perspectives on life, be it work, home, community, or elsewhere, we are well-positioned to identify opportunities to make a shift in our views. These are the essential critical shifts that drive new actions and ultimately, the new results we’re committed to creating in the world.
Master the Art of Transformational Learning & Coaching
Whether you’re committed to becoming a professional coach or want to grow as a leader at work or in your community, our certification program gives you the skills and mindset necessary for success.
Rediscover Your Joy & Passion for Learning
Learning may be the single most important skill that enables humans to succeed in the world. And yet, we often lose our beginner’s mindset and passion for learning. Our programs are designed to help you honestly assess your abilities, competencies and ultimately, discover your opportunities for learning. This space opens the door to limitless possibilities, results, satisfaction, and the chance to generate networks for help and collaboration.
Our coaching certification explores the following:
- How you can develop a deep and grounded understanding of yourself: your deepest cares, what gives you purpose, who you are, and how you interact with the world
- How to understand and embrace your verbal and body language, emotional capacities and how they can expand to create impactful change in your life
- How you can transform into your most alive, passionate, and fulfilled self
- How can you fully utilize this new awareness and authenticity to make your most valued contributions in your work, home, and community?

When You Enroll in Our Coaching Program, You’ll Walk Away With An Understanding of These Topics:
Theory of the Observer: The world that we live in and the possibilities of action within that world is shaped by the ensemble of beliefs, paradigms, or master assertions that we have about ourselves, others, and the world. By modifying the observer we are, we can enlarge our possibilities for action, enhance our effectiveness and reduce our suffering or lack of satisfaction that certain situations cause us.
Learning to Learn: One of the main capacities allowing us to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing economy is the ability to learn. Through this, we can take charge of developing new abilities to see problems or challenges as possibilities for innovation and development.
Model of breakdowns: In our personal and organizational life, problems occur that challenge our traditional ways of doing things. One interpretation of “breakdowns” is that they are possibilities for learning, innovation, and development, and they allow us to increase our capacity for action and results.
Effective Listening: A central aspect in the ability to anticipate working conflicts, to satisfy our clients’ concerns, and even to anticipate requests or to be an offer to others, lies in learning to listen to other’s concerns, the environment, the future, whatever is unfolding for them.
Theory of the Acts of Speech: If we review our daily life, we discover a great part of it is immersed in conversations – to ask for help, to offer a product, to hire someone, etc. We maintain that increasing our power, our capacity to coordinate actions, and our well-being, lies in improving the quality of our communication.
Powerful Conversations: One of the most frequently declared problems by people in organizations is the difficulty to generate and participate in different kinds of conversations. There are organizations that easily engage in conversations for action but have difficulties speculating, making a legitimate complaint, or innovating. There are people who have great power to dream up new projects and limited power to put those dreams into concrete actions. We bring to our coaching programs a profoundly simple but effective technique for having powerful conversations.
Conversations, Actions, and Emotions: During the course of our occidental culture, we have neglected the importance and impact that moods have on the results we produce. We all know that actions taken from a mood of resignation are not as likely to produce the intended results as actions taken from a mood of, say, ambition. Emotional intelligence, as Daniel Goldman speaks about it, is an important capacity to develop in managers and an essential ingredient in good coaching.
The Art & Science of Coaching: Coaching is an art form as well as a science. In this program, you learn how to blend the Newfield ontological distinctions with the core coaching competencies.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are our top five questions that we frequently get asked. You can view other questions on our FAQ page.
There are so many coaching programs out there. Why Newfield Network?
Our founder, Julio Olalla, is considered among the founding fathers of the coaching movement itself. He has over 40 years of experience in education and coaching and has educated more than 70,000 individuals, over 300 companies (e.g., Nike, Citibank, NASA, World Bank), as well as government leaders.
Newfield employs several innovative learning best practices such as learning groups, mentor coaching, recommended readings and assignments, virtual learning, and more so that participants get a rich experience throughout the eight months. After your graduation, Newfield’s vibrant and active Learning Collective enables you to share resources and coaching tools as well as to network with over 2,500 of the finest coaches in the world.
Begun in 1991, Newfield was one of the first coach training schools in the world. Thanks to its world-class faculty, cutting-edge and research-driven content, innovative learning methodologies, and vibrant alumni community, Newfield has evolved into a coach-education institute regarded by many as the best in the world.
Who is this program for?
Newfield’s Coaching for Personal and Professional Mastery program is designed for those committed to deep personal transformational learning, becoming a competent coach, or more impactful & successful organizational leader. Thus, our programs are attended by individuals, entrepreneurs, and leaders in non-profit organizations, government agencies, and private corporations. We welcome those with an appreciation and desire to honor the highest standards of the profession to attend a program accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF). Upon successful completion of the program, you can leverage your learning and professional standing by joining the ICF and becoming an ICF-credentialed coach.
Is your program accredited by the International Coaching Federation?
YES! We teach the ICF Core Coaching Competencies and the Professional Coaching Markers, which include how to build rapport and trust, how to enter into a coaching agreement, how to work with the coachee to develop coaching plans, etc.
We begin the Coaching for Personal and Professional Mastery program by teaching frameworks, models, and practices that effectively facilitate the process of change in the participants before they try it with others. Beyond learning coaching as a list of “to do” steps, participants deeply explore what it means to be a human “being.” Ontological coaching provides a deep well of knowledge from which to draw to serve this purpose.
What are the program prerequisites?
People self-select into our Coach Education Program. This program is not the right fit for those trying to learn to coach quickly or without first examining their own beliefs, limitations, and assumptions. It is rigorous and experiential, requiring you to attend two 6-day virtual intensives and spend approximately 5-7 hours per week in course activities, including reading, writing, working with study partners, and participating in virtual classes over a 9-month time period.
Do you have tuition payment plans?
Yes. There is a deposit due upon registration, followed by four or six payments over the length of the program. For other payment options, please email your enrollment specialist at connect@newfieldnetwork.com. You may pay by check or credit card.
